DENNIS CARLTON

January 4, 1952 – November 22, 2009
 
Anderson, SC – Mr. Dennis Alan Carlton, age 57, of 402 W. Fredericks Street, died Sunday, November 22, 2009, at AnMed Health Medical Center.
 
Born in Anderson, SC, he was a son of the late B.C. Carlton and Ethel Phillips Carlton. He was a former employee at Sears, Electric Avenue & More and Santens of America. He was a member of Welcome Baptist Church. Mr. Carlton is the beloved brother of Jerry, Linda and Peggy Carlton. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Betty C. Davenport.
 
The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel Mausoleum at Forest Lawn Memorial Park on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 11:00 am with William R. West, Jr. officiating. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 23, 2009 at The McDougald Funeral Home from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. It is suggested that memorials be made to Welcome Baptist Church, PO Box 757, Sandy Springs, SC 29677.

VALERIA STAGGS

January 9, 1926 – November 21, 2009
 
Belton, SC - Mrs. Valeria Lee Seymour Staggs, age 83, wife of the late Rudolph Staggs, of 115 Pineland Meadows Road, died Saturday, November 21, 2009 at AnMed Health Medical Center.
 
Born in Elbert County, GA, she was a daughter of the late Floyd Seymour and Ada Elree Butler Seymour. She retired from the textile industry, where she had worked in Athens, GA, Belton and Anderson.
 
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
 
Her nieces, Jo Marie Ussery of Fountain Inn, SC, Sherrell Teters of Atlanta, GA, Teresa Staggs and her husband Darrell of Belton; nephew, Carl Whitworth of Alaska; great-nephew, Wayne Staggs of the home; great-niece and great nephew, Telisa and Travis Staggs; sisters-in-law, Betty Bridges and Shelby Jean Cloud, survive her. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Troy Seymour and a sister, Ethel Whitworth.
 
The Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 pm on Monday, November 23, 2009 in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by Reverend Tony Edwards. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends on Sunday from 6pm-8pm at the funeral home.

MARTHA KELLY

SEPTEMBER 14, 1919 – NOVEMBER 20, 2009
 
Anderson, SC- Mrs. Martha Olivia Fowler Kelly, age 90, wife of the late James Edward Kelly, Sr., resident of Ellenburg Nursing Center, formerly of 208 Ligon Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 20, 2009 at the Rainey Hospice House.
 
Born in Anderson, she was a daughter of the late Thackston Bayliss Fowler and Malinda Taylor Fowler. She was a homemaker and attended Wellington Pentecostal Holiness Church.
 
Survivors include her sons, William “Bo” Alvin Kelly, James E. Kelly, Jr., and Marion “Buddy” Cecil Kelly of Anderson; a daughter, Linda Ann Bailey of Anderson; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
 
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Gail Kelly; granddaughter, Amy Michelle Kelly; great-granddaughter, Kelli Chantel Bailey; five brothers and two sisters.
 
The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, November 23, 2009 in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Bobby Smith. Interment will follow in New Silver Brook Cemetery.
 
The family will be at the home of her daughter, 208 Ligon Drive, and will receive friends from 5pm-7pm on Sunday at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the staff at Ellenburg Nursing Center and Rainey Hospice House for their devoted care and concern during Mother’s declining health. Flowers are optional. MARIAN I. BILLADEAU

May 29, 1922 – November 18,2009
Marian Isabelle Sholaas Billadeau of 4212 Airline Road, widow of Everell G. Billadeau, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, November 18, 2009.
 
Born on May 29, 1922, she was the youngest of three daughters, born to the late Ingvald and Mary Anderson Sholaas.  She was raised in Raub and Lucky Mound, ND.  As a Registered Nurse, she served in the United States Navy during World War II, stationed in Tacoma, WA, after which she returned to North Dakota, married and raised nine children.  She had a long career as a Registered Nurse and retired from Anderson Area Medical Center at the age of 74.
 
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Peggie Billadeau of Mount Airy, NC; William and Fern Billadeau of Minot, ND; Edwin and Bonnie Billadeau, and Monte and Bonnie Billadeau of  Parshall, ND; by her daughters and son-in-law, Avis and Ronnie Norby; Elana Dawn Billadeau, all of Anderson, SC, Elona Dee Garrett of Williamston, SC and by her many nieces and nephews, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly.
 
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Ted Bryan Billadeau; her daughter, Renee Arlette Billadeau; and her sisters, Margaret “Margie” Little Swallow and Olive “Ollie” Spotted Bear Benson.
 
A Memorial Service and Celebration of her life will be held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at 1:00 pm officiated by the Reverend Dr. Kirt Mitchell.  Burial will be in Parshall, ND. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:30 pm to 12:30 pm on Saturday. The family will be at the home of her daughter Avis Norby, 306 Sweetbriar Circle, Anderson, SC.

HAROLD LANDRETH

PENDLETON – William Harold Landreth, 71, of Pendleton, husband of Lucy Williams Landreth, died Thursday, November 19, 2009 at AnMed Health Medical Center.

Born November 5, 1938 in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Ollie and Lillie Reid Landreth. He was a retired lineman with Duke Power Co. with 30 years service. Mr. Landreth was a member of the Pendleton Fire Department since 1962, a member of Pendleton Masonic Lodge #34, and a member of Mount Tabor Baptist Church and the Joy Sunday School Class.

Survivors include his wife, Lucy W. Landreth of the home; daughter, Deborah Clamp of Anderson; two grandsons, Justin Clamp and wife, Brandi of Johnson City, TN, and Andrew Clamp of Anderson; and two sisters, Becky Lark and husband, Frank, and Joanne Hawkins and husband, Luther, all of Anderson. Three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sullivan-King Mortuary, Northeast Chapel, conducted by Rev. Danny Gray. Burial will be in New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday at the mortuary, 3205 North Highway 81, Anderson. The family is at the residence.

Wilbur Quinton  “Bryce” Caison, IV age 3, of 2902 Beechwood Parkway, died Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
 
Born in Anderson, SC on February 1, 2006, Bryce was a son of Will and Julie Bolding Caison. He attended West Anderson Christian Academy and attended NewSpring Church with his family.  He was full of life, playing baseball, riding his bicycle and cheering for the Gamecocks.  He was all boy.
 
In addition to his parents, Bryce is survived by his brother, Blake and sister, Baylee; paternal grandmother, Patsy Caison; maternal grandmother, Kathy Dunn and his two great-grandmothers, Margaret Dunn and Grace Lyons.
 
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Wilbur Q. Caison, Jr., and his two great-grandfathers, Thomas L. Dunn and Rudolph Lyons.
 
The family will receive friends at NewSpring Church from 9:30am until 1l:30am on Saturday, November 21, 2009 and a Service of Celebration for the life of Bryce will follow at Noon officiated by Pastor Garry Harper.  Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the residence. It is suggested that memorials may be made to the Cancer Association of Anderson, 215 E. Calhoun Street, Anderson, SC 29621.

KATHRYN M. GREENWAY

October 2, 1917 –November 19, 2009
ANDERSON, SC - Mrs. Kathryn Ruth Mitchell Greenway, age 92, wife of the late John Victor Greenway, died Thursday, November 19, 2009 at Anderson Place Health Center.
 
Born in McCaysville, GA on October 2, 1917, Mrs. Greenway was a daughter of the late Otis E. Mitchell and Arrie Mathis Mitchell.  She attended Lincoln Memorial University and retired as a bookkeeper with her husband’s business, the Greenway Standard Service Station.  She was a member of the Ladies of the Moose in Winter Haven, FL and the First United Methodist Church in Haines City, FL. Survivors include her daughter, Letty L. Carr and her husband, Donald of Pendleton.
 
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Edwin and Billy D. Mitchell and a sister, Lillian Williams. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at 3:30 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by Dr. Williams R. Childs.  A Graveside Service will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Haines City, FL at a later date.

RUBY CLARK JOHNSON

ANDERSON – Ruby Higginbotham Clark Johnson, 90, of Anderson, died Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at NHC of Anderson.

Born October 16, 1919 in Seneca, she was the daughter of the late William and Etta Teasley Higginbotham. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include two daughters, Gloria Smith of Williamston and Carolyn Owens of Anderson; two sons, Denny Clark and Bobby Clark, both of Anderson; 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She was twice married, first to the late James Guy Clark, Sr. and second to the late James Bruce Johnson. She was preceded in death by a son, Jim Clark, a grandson, Travis Clark, six brothers and five sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Sullivan-King Mortuary, Northeast Chapel, conducted by Rev. Gene Burdette. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. BEVERLY C. CLARK

November 16, 1951– November 17, 2009
 
ANDERSON, SC - Beverly Diane Chapman Clark, age 58, wife of James “Jimmy” Michael Clark of 104 Princess Avenue, died Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at the AnMed Health Medical Center.
 
Born in Anderson, SC, and being raised in Belton, she was the daughter of William Andrew Chapman and Annie Louise Cummings Chapman of Belton. She was a 1970 graduate of Belton-Honea Path High School and was a postal carrier for the Belton Post Office.  She was a member of the Red Hatter’s Society of Belton and attended Forest Hill Baptist Church.  Being a cancer survivor, she also was a volunteer for the Anderson Breast Cancer Survivors.
 
In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by her two daughters, Mitzi Clark Richards of Greenville and Tiffney Osborne and her husband, Jeff of Townville; her brother, Darrell Chapman and his wife, Angie of Belton and four grandchildren, Ryan Brock, Jesse Osborne, Marylee Osborne and Taylor Richards.
 
The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 20, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Forest Hill Baptist Church officiated by the Reverends Kyle Caudell and Tom Owen.  Interment will follow in the M. J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
 
The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Thursday, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.  Mrs. Clark will be placed in the church at 1:00 pm on Friday. The family will be at the residence.

Anderson – Louise Elizabeth Robinson Small, 85, of Parkview Heights Apts., passed away on November 15, 2009.  She is survived by her children, Sylvia Louise Small and James Bobby Small; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Cora Cade Robinson and James Robinson and one brother, James (Bob) Robinson.

Johnnie Williams

Anderson – Johnnie Williams, 75, of 113 Fisher Jenkins Road, passed away on November 10, 2009 in Charleston, SC.  He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Weaver, Karen Williams, Kimberley Wilson, and Kristy Hickmon.; sons, Johnny Williams, Rodney Williams, and Derrick Williams; sisters, Essie Mae Jackson and Martha Lawson; brother, Joseph Williams; twenty-nine grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Eula L. Edwards Williams; parents, Will and Lena Williams; and one son, Eddie Williams.
 
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 14, 2009 at New Holly Light Missionary Baptist Church.  The interment will follow in the church cemetery.
