Former Administrator Stopped for Suspicion of DUI

Former Anderson County Administrator Joey Preston was stopped Thursday night by an Anderson County Sheriff's Deputy on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Preston's black GMC Yukon was stopped on S.C. 24 near Oneal Ferry Road Thursday just before 11 p.m. when the officer observed the vehicle's "failure to maintain lane of travel." The officer said there was "a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from the defendant's breath," and that Preston said he had "only had three glasses of red wine."
