MIKE McKINSEY

November 5, 1962 - October 14, 2011

HONEA PATH, SC- Michael Barry McKinsey, age 48, loving husband & best friend of Leise McKinsey, passed away on October 14, 2011.

Born November 5, 1962, in Fort Lauderdale, FL, he was a son of the late Edith Virginia Franks McKinsey.  He was a 1982 graduate of Belton-Honea Path High School.  He was a wildlife videographer for Realtrees Outdoors and an award winning taxidermist.  He was an avid hunter. 

Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Leise Chasteen McKinsey, son, Nicholas Hawkins and his wife, Viridiana of Lexington, SC, daughter, Taylor Hawkins of Greenville, SC, brother, Paul McKinsey, of Anderson, SC, sister, Debbie McGaha of Honea Path, SC, mother-in-law, Mary Chasteen, several nephews and nieces: Shannon, Jared, Amanda, Tony Wayne, Megan, Colt, Savannah, and Micah.

In addition to his mother he was predeceased by a brother, Wayne McKinsey.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home conducted by the Reverend Dr. Mitch Brooks.   

The family will be at the residence and will be receiving friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Monday, October 17, 2011 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. 

In honor of Mike’s love of the outdoors it is suggested memorials be made to Out Door Dream Foundation, PO Box 802, Anderson, SC 29622.
