DOROTHY K. JENNINGS  

ANDERSON - Dorothy (Dot) Kathleen Keown Jennings, died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, September 25, 2010 in Anderson, South Carolina. She was 87.

She was born July 5, 1923 to the late Lillie Clemons and Wilson E. Keown and was raised in LaFayette, Georgia. She attended LaFayette High School and Middle Georgia in Cochran, Georgia. She married Reuben Jennings in 1944 and they moved to Chattanooga in 1955. She was a member of Brainerd Baptist Church. She moved to Anderson, SC in 2010 and attended Concord Community Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Reuben Jennings, a brother and his wife, Wilson Eugene and Neva Keown, a brother, Donald Troy Keown, and a beloved nephew, Bruce Keown.

She is survived by her daughter and her husband, Kathy and John Wells of Anderson; a granddaughter and her husband, Meredith and John Basel of NC; a grandson, Ben Wells of California; and two precious great-granddaughters, Reagan and Rory Basel. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Dottie Keown of Texas; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at Chattanooga Funeral Home, East Chapel, 404 South Moore Road, East Ridge, TN from 5 until 7 p.m. Monday. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at Chattanooga National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
