JAMES A. BRUCE

January 24, 1936 – December 16, 2010

BELTON, SC - James Allman Bruce, age 74, of 412 Youth Center Road, husband of the late Bessie Vaughn Bruce, died Thursday, December 16, 2010 at his residence.

Born in Anderson County, SC on January 24, 1936, Mr. Bruce was a son of the late Hoyt Allman Bruce and Ila Jones Bruce.  He was a Lineman with the Y.C. Ballanger Electrical Contractor for eighteen years then was the Utility Superintendent  with the town of Due West for several years.   He was an avid deer hunter, gardener and was of the Baptist Faith.

 

Survivors include his children; Danny Brown of Anderson, Roddy Bruce and his wife, Wendy of Belton and Jeff Bruce and his wife, Kim of Williamston; Barbara Black of Fountain Inn and Archie Bruce of Honea Path; brothers, Buren, Lee , Randall and Marshall Bruce; sisters, Elaine Murphy, Glenda Stone and Velma Marone; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

 

In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by four brothers.

 

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 1:00 pm at New Silver Brook Cemetery officiated by the Rev. Daryle Hawthorne.

 

The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends immediately following the graveside service.
