SARA C. BARNETTE

January 29, 1935 – December 16, 2010

ANDERSON, SC - Sara Willingham Callaham Barnette, age 75, wife of William S. Barnette of 1217 Bolt Drive, died Thursday, December 16, 2010 at the Rainey Hospice House.

Born in Anderson, SC on January 29, 1935, Mrs. Barnette was the daughter of the late Fred Sherman Willingham and the late Louella Hughes Willingham Ivester and step-daughter of the late J B. Ivester.

She was a graduate of Anderson Girls' High School and began her career in business at the Credit Union at Abney Mills, also worked for the Anderson Federal Credit Union for twenty six years and retired as a Branch Manager.  She was a member of Orrville Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 29 years, William S. Barnette; sons, Michael Alan Callaham, John David Callaham, Stephen Harold Callaham and Walter Edward Callaham; daughters, Catherine A. Callaham Mundy, Elaine Callaham Nash and Tonya Barnette Sosebee; sister Sybil Turner; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, all of Anderson. 

She was predeceased by brothers, Fred Willingham, Harold Willingham, Bobbie Willingham and Charles Willingham; sisters, Inez Gilliam and Ann Vickery and an infant grandchild, Devon Ray Whitworth.

The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, December 19, 2010 at 3:30 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Dr. Wendell Bannister   Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will be at the home of her daughter, Elaine Nash, 402 Kings Road, Anderson, SC and will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:30 pm until 3:30 pm. before the service.
