Hartwell Lake Above Full Pool, More Rain on the Way

Observer Reports
Hartwell Lake is currently 3.44 feet above full pool and has reached flood stage, reporting a water level of 663.44 Feet MSL this morning. And more rain is on the way.
Officials say recent heavy rains have pumped more water into the lake from rivers and streams, leaving the lake above flood stage for nearly a week.
Water was released last week down river from the Strom Thurmond Dam near Augusta, Ga. The U.S. Corps of Engineers is monitoring the situation closely before releasing water from Hartwell Dam to avoid flooding downstream.
Thursday’s forecast for more significant rainfall could create more issues. This story is developing.
