Marian A. deHoll

Anderson, SC - Marian A. deHoll, age 96, passed away on August 19, 2010 in Anderson, South Carolina. The former resident of McLean, Virginia was the wife of the late Dr. John C. deHoll, DVM of Arlington, Virginia and was the mother of David deHoll, Sr. of Anderson, South Carolina; Robert A. deHoll of Anderson, South Carolina; Paul B. deHoll of Alexandria, Virginia, and Jan F. deHoll of Springfield, Virginia. Marian is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
 
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 27th at 11 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 5312 North 10th St., Arlington, Virginia. Interment will be next to her late husband at Columbia Gardens Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia.
 
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Macular Degeneration Foundation, Inc., P.O. Box 531313, Henderson, Nevada 89053.

ALBERT D. MANLEY, JR.

JUNE 25, 1967 – AUGUST 20, 2010
 
IVA, SC – Albert Daniel Manley, Jr., age 43, passed away on Friday, August 20, 2010.
 
Born in Greenville, SC, on June 25, 1967, he was a son of Aletha Watson Dunn and the late Albert D. Manley, Sr. He was employed by E Z On Auto Tops, Inc. and was a born again Christian who was a member of Fellowship Wesleyan Church.
 
He is survived by his daughter, Kymmy Manley; his mother, Aletha Dunn; his grandmother, Danyce Broome; and his granddaughter, Kaley Simpson, all of Iva, SC. 
 
The Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 pm on Monday, August 23, 2010, at Fellowship Wesleyan Church, Iva, conducted by the Reverend George Brassard. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. 
 
The family will be at the home of his daughter, Kymmy Manley, 315 Parkview Road, Apt E29, Iva, SC and will receive friends at Fellowship Wesleyan Church from 2:30 pm until 4:00 pm on Monday.

HAROLD R. WOODY

 

ANDERSON – Harold Robert Woody, 88, of 311 Simpson Road, Anderson Place, formerly of Asheville, NC, husband of Mary Brown Woody, died Thursday, August 19, 2010 at AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson.
Born August 10, 1922 in Asheville, NC, he was the son of the late James Brian Woody and Maude Ray Woody Chandler. He was a 1942 graduate of Lee Edwards High School and was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. Mr. Woody was employed with the National Weather Service for 27 years and later retired as a self-employed Home Builder. He was a member of Malvern Hills Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Woody of Anderson; son, Allan S. Woody and wife, Janet of Belton; granddaughter, Jennifer Woody of Clemson; grandson, Benjamin Woody of Belton; and a sister, Mary Jane Hollyday of Asheville.
A committal service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, NC, with military rites. A memorial service will follow at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Malvern Hills Presbyterian Church conducted by Dr. Doug Tilley and Elder Bill Roseborough.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Malvern Hills Presbyterian Church, Mission Offering, 2 Bear Creek Road, Asheville, NC 28806.

RUSTY SMITH

DECEMBER 31, 1953 – AUGUST 19, 2010
 
ANDERSON, SC – Dennis Lamar “Rusty” Smith, age 56, beloved son of the late Reverend John D. Smith and Blanche Chambers Smith, passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2010, at AnMed Health Medical Center. 
 
Born in Anderson, SC, on December 31, 1953, he was a lifelong Christian and member of High Praises Church of God. His willingness was always to serve in any capacity at Church, preferably as an Usher.  Rusty loved eating in restaurants – however, he was most passionate about those that allowed him to refill his own sodas.  His
 
He is survived by his brothers: Stanley Smith and Ronald Smith, both of Anderson, Douglas Smith of Greenville; sisters: Barbara Ikard of Memphis, TN, Wanda White of Spartanburg, and Sharon Blalock of Atlanta. He was predeceased by a sister, Brenda Gunter.
 
The Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, August 22, 2010, at High Praises Church of God conducted by the Reverend Chris Sustar and the Reverend Keith Gunter.  Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
 
The family will be at the home of Stan & Earlene Smith, 198 Graylyn Drive, and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Saturday.  Mr. Smith will be placed into the Church at 2:00 pm on Sunday.

HENRY F. BONDS

ANDERSON, SC – Henry Franklin Bonds, age 81, loving husband of the late Geneva Crocker Bonds, went Home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 19, 2010, at the Rainey Hospice House.
 
He was the retired owner & operator of Bonds Café and was a faithful member of West Anderson Church of God who loved serving the Lord.
 
The Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, August 22, 2010, in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home conducted by the Reverend Mark Daniel and the Reverend John M. Daniel. Burial will follow in Old Silver Brook Cemetery.
 
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Saturday, August 21, 2010.

AMOS V. ADDIS

MAY 21, 1927 – AUGUST 16, 2010
Amos V. Addis, age 83, passed away on August 16, 2010, after a brief illness.
 
Born in Walhalla, SC on May 21, 1927, he was the son of the late Fred J. and Viola Smith Addis. 
 
He is survived by his wife, Juda Brown Addis; daughters Pat Nix (fiancé, Doc Cross), Kay Hall (Bobby) and Jill Wilson (Stanley), all of Anderson.  He is also survived by grandchildren: Roger Nix (Cheryl), Mark Nix (Lora), Laura Hall Blanton  (Adam), David Hall (Bridget), Stewart Wilson (Misty), and John Wilson (Shannon); and ten great-grandchildren. Also surviving are brother, George E. Addis; and father and mother in-law, Greyson & Virginia Brown.   
 
He was preceded in death by wife, Martha Moore Addis; grandsons Kenneth Nix and Stuart Hall; sisters Mary Quarles, Pauline Nations and Fredricka Addis; and brothers Julius Addis, Roger Addis, Roy Addis and Chris Addis. 
 
Mr. Addis served in the United States Navy during World War II. After a 25 year career with Winn-Dixie Stores, he joined Britt Clary Co. as Vice President of Confectionary Sales, and retired from Rogers American Brokerage Company in the same position.
 
Mr. Addis was a member of Pope Drive Baptist Church where he served as Greeter Coordinator.  He was a member of the VFW of Bristol, VA; a 50 year member of the Hejaz Shrine Temple; and a 50 year member of the Seneca Masonic Lodge.  He was also an Honorary Member of Company F, Indian Head Division of WWII US Army Veterans.
 
Mr. Addis deeply loved and valued both immediate and extended family. He never met a stranger and made countless life-long friends. He had a passion for traveling and accomplished his goal of traveling to all 50 states and made several trips abroad.
 
The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, August 20, 2010, in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home conducted by the Reverend Mack Tester. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family is at the home, 601 Timberlake Road, and will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, August 19, 2010.

B.F. JENKINS

JUNE 13, 1917 – AUGUST 17, 2010
 
ANDERSON, SC – Belton Ford Jenkins, age 93, of 3001 Hwy 413, passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2010.
 
Born in Anderson, SC, on June 13, 1917, he was a son of the late Belton Ford Jenkins and Roseana Deanhart Jenkins.  Mr. Jenkins was a retired professional painter and was a member of Broadway Lake Baptist Church.  He was also affectionately known to many as the ‘Mayor of Broadway Lake’. 
 
Survivors include his wife, Mattie Lou Carver Jenkins; children: Jerry Jenkins and wife, Shirley, Sue Ellen Peace and husband, Calvin, Connie Roberts, Roger Jenkins and wife, Brenda, Kippy Jenkins and wife, Sue, & Keith Jenkins and wife, Dawn, all of Anderson, SC; twelve grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.  He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
 
The Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 pm on Thursday, August 19, 2010, at Broadway Lake Baptist Church conducted by the Reverend Early M. Tucker.  Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Gardens. 
 
The family is at the home.  The family will receive friends at Broadway Lake Baptist Church from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Thursday, prior to the service

ANDERSON, SC – James Henry Sansonetti, Sr., age 102, husband of the late Anna M. Ruskauss Sansonetti, passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2010.
 
Born in Hastings, PA, on October 20, 1907, he was a son of the late Alexander & Carmella Sansonetti.  He was a retired Bank President and was Catholic.
 
Survivors include his daughter, Patricia S. Cioffi of Townville, SC; a son, James H. Sansonetti, Jr., and wife, Marsha of Columbia, SC; fourteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
 
He was predeceased by a son, Richard E. Sansonetti.
 
Funeral Services will be held in Jeannette, PA.

ANDERSON, SC – Fred Tulon Cox, age 77, husband of Janie Sue McCurry Cox, passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2010.
 
Born in Westminster, SC, on May 12, 1933, he was a son of the late Henry Tulon Cox and Maggie Long Cox.  He was a former textiles employee and was of the Baptist faith.  Mr. Cox served in the United States Army.
 
Survivors include his wife of nearly fifty-five years, Janie Sue McCurry Cox; their son, Steven J. Cox of Anderson, SC; and a sister, Gertrude C. Duncan of Seneca, SC.
 
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, John Beeks “J.B.” Cox; and a sister, Annie Ruth Cox.
 
The Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, August 19, 2010, in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home conducted by the Reverend David Blizzard, the Reverend David Walters, and Brother Larry Stancil. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
 
The family is at the home, 2006 Avant Circle, and will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday.

LAMIE WICKER

May 25, 1928 – August 14, 2010
 
Anderson, SC - Lamie Ruth Herring Wicker, age 82, wife of Nash Wicker, passed away Saturday, August 14, 2010, at Brookside Living Center.
 
Born in Hartwell, GA on May 25, 1928, Mrs. Wicker was the daughter of the late Samuel Dewey Herring and Willie Walters Herring. She was a graduate of Townville High School, Class of 1945, and a member of Pope Drive Baptist Church where she served in the Children’s Department. Mrs. Wicker managed and worked at Joyce Anne Style Shop for many years.
 
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Nash Wicker, of the home; a sister, Mrs. DeVerle H. Chapman and her husband John G. “Jack” Chapman of Atlanta, GA; and a nephew, Steven Chapman of Atlanta, GA.
 
The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2010 at 2:00 pm in The McDougald Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Mack Tester officiating. Entombment will follow the service in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
 
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, August 16, 2010 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
 
It is suggested that flowers be omitted and memorials be made to Pope Drive Baptist Church, 2510 Pope Drive, Anderson, SC 29625-3099.
 
The family would respectfully like to thank Mrs. Wicker’s personal aide, Nancy Burriss, for her loving care and support for so many months during her illness. ESTELLE B. DILLARD

Anderson, SC - Estelle Burnett Dillard, age 90, of Anderson, wife of the late John D. Dillard, passed away Saturday, August 14, 2010 at the Rainey Hospice House.
 
Born in Laurens, South Carolina on November 20, 1919, Mrs. Dillard was the daughter of the late Henry Burnett and Nettie Vandiver Burnett. She was a Sunday School teacher for many years at Varennes Heights Baptist Church and had worked at Clark Schwebel and retired from K-Mart.
 
Survivors include a son, Johnny L. Dillard and his wife Diane of Chicopee, Massachusetts; two daughters, Kathy D. Slaton of Starr, SC and Sandra D. Hill and her husband Leslie of Anderson, SC; two sisters, Sophie Lee Calvert of Simpsonville, SC and Pat Moon of Pierson, FL; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
 
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Dillard was predeceased by an infant daughter and son, Elizabeth and James Dillard; an infant granddaughter; a grandson, Jason Allen Goolsby; a great-granddaughter, Ashley Danielle Goolsby; a son-in-law, Thomas Slaton; and four sisters and one brother.
 
The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 16, 2010 at 11:00 am in The McDougald Funeral Home Chapel with Doctor Kirt Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow the funeral service in the Simpsonville City Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
 
The family will be at the home and received friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Sunday, August 15, 2010 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
