Norman Lamar Boggs

Norman Lamar Boggs, Sr., 86, passed away Monday, February 22, 2016 at the Rainey Hospice House. 

Born in Anderson and reared in Honea Path, he was the son of the late Floyd and Daisy Haynie Boggs. He was founder and President of Boggs Builders, Inc. and Norman L. Boggs Real Estate. He was a Charter Member of the Realtors Association of Anderson and a Charter Member and Past President of the Anderson Homebuilders Association. Mr. Boggs was a member of Centre Lodge #37 A.F.M. in Honea Path where he had received his 60 year pin. He was also a member of the Hejaz Shrine. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he was a Deacon and member of the Tom Allen Bible Class.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Faye Long Boggs of the home; son, Norman L. Boggs, Jr. and wife, Debbie of Anderson; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one brother, Thomas “Buddy” Boggs of Anderson; and three sisters, Dorothy Cooley of Honea Path, Carolyn Harris of Ware Shoals and Julia Roberts of York. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Edward Boggs and two brothers, James and Arthur Boggs. 

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Sullivan-King Mortuary. Services and burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 307 South Manning Street, Anderson, SC 29624.
