Bobby N. Stowe

Anderson, SC - Bobby Nelson Stowe, 83, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, February 14, 2016. He also joins the love of his life, Betty Kay Stowe, his wife of 57 years.

Born in Commerce, Georgia, he was the son of the late John P. and Mary Alice Yarborough Stowe. Mr. Stowe served in the U.S. Air Force. He retired from textiles and enjoyed selling at the Surfside Market for many years. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his two daughters, Valesa Attaway and husband, Mike, of Jefferson, Georgia and Valita Jenkins and husband, Ronnie, of Anderson, SC. Also surviving are his three grandchildren, who were the light of his life, Nikole Walker of Jefferson, Georgia, Travis Jenkins, M.D. and wife, Shirin, of Wilmington, NC and Derick Jenkins, M.D. and wife, Livia, of Richmond, Virginia; brother, Ken Stowe; and two sisters, Joyce Merck and Jan Gilliam. 

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Stowe. 

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Sullivan-King Mortuary Chapel conducted by Rev. Ray Buchanan. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 11:30 until 12:45 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. The family is at the home of Valita and Ronnie Jenkins, 123 Oxford Drive, Anderson. 

Flowers are optional; memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
