JERRY DAVIS

July 25, 1944 – September 7, 2013 

Jerry Cecil Davis, age 69, of 2115 Whitfield Drive, passed away at AnMed Health Medical Center on Saturday, September 7, 2013.  Born in Anderson, he was the son of the late Clyde Earl Davis and the late Vera Mae Lollis Davis.  Mr. Davis enjoyed a career that spanned 30 years with the J P Stevens Company.  Upon the closing of the plant, he worked as a sheet metal worker until his retirement with Freeman Mechanical. He was a faithful member of River Street Baptist Church as long as his health permitted.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Tammy Renee Davis and Pamela Davis Allen and her husband, Pastor Steve Allen, all of Anderson; 4 brothers, Dendy Davis and wife, Judy, Don Davis and wife, Rosie, Roger Davis and wife, Carol, and Terry Davis, all of Anderson;  1 grandson, Brian Scott Owens; and 2 great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Jaide Owens and Jacob Luke Owens.  Mr. Davis was dearly loved by his family and friends, and he will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Davis was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Earl Davis, Jr., and 2 sisters, Mary Jeanette Davis and Shirley Ann Davis Houston.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at 3 PM, at the River Street Baptist Church.  Interment will follow at the Six and Twenty Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Monday, September 9, 2013, from 6 PM until 9 PM.
