NEWTON NEWELL

ANDERSON - Newton Jasper Newell, Jr., 75, of Anderson, died Sunday, April 7, 2013 at the Rainey Hospice House.
Born December 5, 1937 in Anderson, he was the son of the late Newton Jasper Newell, Sr. and Winnie Reid Newell. He was a graduate of Wofford College and was owner and operator of Newell Construction Co. Mr. Newell was a charter member of Christ Reformed Church and was an Elder in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA).
Survivors include his wife, Elsie McCrary Newell of the home; two daughters, Tina Pinion and husband, Chuck, and Terrie Brendle and husband, Chad; son, Matthew Newell and wife, Dana, all of Anderson; twelve grandchildren, Bradley Pinion, Elisabeth Pinion, Sarah Brendle, Seth Brendle, Sophie Brendle, Samuel Brendle, Sadie Brendle, Susanna Brendle, Silas Brendle, Ethan Newell, Peyton Newell, and Carson Newell.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Winnie Reid Welborn.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Christ Reformed Church conducted by Pastor Alexander S. Campbell. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. Wednesday at the church. A private burial will follow the service at Old Silver Brook Cemetery. The family is at the home of Terrie and Chad Brendle, 2809 Woodridge Drive, Anderson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Haven of Rest Ministries, 219 W. Whitner Street, Anderson, SC 29624; Shalom House, 349 Blake Dairy Road, Belton, SC 29627; or Christ Reformed Church, 1621 North Main Street #1, Anderson, SC 29621.
