KEN KUYKENDALL

Anderson - Charles Kenneth “Ken” Kuykendall, Sr., age 89, husband of Frances Roper Kuykendall, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2013 at the Rainey Hospice House.

Born in Woofruff, he was a son of the late Charles Walter and Annie Chesney Kuykendall and was raised in the Judson Mill area. He was a graduate of Parker High School and Furman University. He had a very distinguished career in the Navy and retired having served in World War II. Mr. Kuykendall was an active member of Forest Hill Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife of 67 years, Mr. Kuykendall is survived by two daughters, Pam Kuykendall Stone and husband Martin of Laurens and Robin Kuykendall Finley and husband Douglas of Anderson; seven grandchildren, Charles Kenneth “Chuck” Kuykendall, III, Adam Kuykendall, Eric Kuykendall, Stan Stone and wife Michelle, Ryan Stone and wife Becky, Amber Finley Tysl and husband Russ, and Austin Finley and fiancée Rebecca; seven great grandchildren, Grace, Sallie, Parker, Will, John, Emily, Wyatt and Kuy and  sister, Betty Kluge of Greenville. He was predeceased by two sons, Charles Kenneth “Kenny” Kuykendall, Jr. and Alan Kuykendall; brother, James Kuykendall and sister, Mary Frances McClain.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 3pm at Sullivan-King Mortuary with Revs. Tom Owen and T. Dale Lynch officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Military Honors. The family will receive friends on from 2 until 3pm prior to the service at Sullivan-King Mortuary.
