MIRIAM C. GLENN

ANDERSON – Miriam Cox Glenn, 93, of 1053 Cox Road, wife of Jack P. Glenn, passed away Monday, November 26, 2012 at AnMed Health Medical Center.

Born September 13, 1919 in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Alma Ducworth Cox.  Miriam attended Anderson and Winthrop Colleges.  Her life was made around loving and taking care of her family.  She enjoyed cooking and entertaining guests for any occasion the family could come up with. She was voted best cook by her family year after year. She loved her big family gatherings, the mountains and the lake, as long as her family was with her. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Anderson.
Surviving are her husband of 70 years, Jack P. Glenn of the home; 3 sons, Jerry C. Glenn and his wife, Debbie of Sandy Springs, John W. Glenn, Sr. and his wife, Brenda and Jimmy A. Glenn and his wife, Caroline all of Anderson; 7 grandchildren, Emily, Nancy, Jack, Matt, Carla, John Jr. and Patrick and 16 great grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Funeral service will be held at 2pm Wednesday at Sullivan-King Mortuary with Dr. James R. Thomason officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 until 8pm at Sullivan-King Mortuary, 3205 N. Hwy 81.

The family will be at the home of her son, John Glenn, Sr., 1050 Cox Road.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Anderson, 307 S. Manning Street, Anderson, SC 29624 or Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
