RUBY S. COUCH

WILLIAMSTON - Ruby Louise Stegall Couch, 93, formerly of Piercetown Community, widow of James Lloyd Couch, passed away Sunday, November 25, 2012 at the Rainey Hospice House.
Born October 19, 1919 in Piercetown, she was the daughter of the late Patrick S. and Bessie Smith Stegall. Mrs. Couch was a retired school teacher and principal in the public school system for 35 years. She was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church and the Prime Timers.
Surviving are her 2 daughters, Shirley Chappell and her husband, Kenneth of Clemson and Susan Jones and her husband, Max of Anderson; 2 grandchildren, Melissa Jones of Pendleton and Nicholas Jones and his wife, Keri of Anderson; and one great grandson, Grady Jones. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Ralph Stegall, Edna Stegall, Beck Wyatt and Effie Wilson.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Jerry White. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
The family will be at the home of Susan and Max Jones, 5010 Highway 81 North, Anderson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, 101 Pisgah Road, Easley, SC 29642 or Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, South Carolina 29621.
