Harold Pruitt

ANDERSON, SC – Harold Douglas Pruitt, age 89, resident of Heritage Health Care, Toccoa, GA, and former resident of 319 Dogwood Street, Anderson, SC, died Tuesday, October 18, 2011, in Toccoa.
Born in Anderson County, SC, on October 13, 1922, he was the son of the late Walter Vernon Pruitt and Nellie Partain Pruitt. He was a Navy Veteran serving aboard the USS Yorktown during World War II. Mr. Pruitt retired from Abney Mill with over 40 years of service. He was a member of Hiram Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his son Douglas R. Pruitt and wife, Gale Geddings Pruitt of Belton, SC; two grandchildren; Kim Pruitt and Mandy Gravina and her husband, Frank; five great-grandchildren; Josh Hoover, Brandon Hoover, Kristen Hoover, Maegan Gravina and Haley Gravina; and two great-great grandchildren: Gage Pruitt and Sadie Hoover; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Hazel Inez Loftis Pruitt and sisters, Grace Bannister, Kate Patton and L. O. Taylor;
A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 20, 2011, at New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend T. Dale Lynch officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.
The family will be at their respective homes.
