BOYCE McADAMS, JR.

TOWNVILLE - Boyce McAdams, Jr., 82, of Townville, widower of the late Edna Harbin McAdams, died Sunday, September 26, 2010 at Seneca Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Born November 20, 1927 in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Samuel Boyce and Elsie Martin McAdams. He was a retired insurance salesman and was a member of the Townville Masonic Lodge and Double Springs Baptist Church.

He was a loving father and papa to one son, Steve McAdams (Sandra) of Townville; four daughters, Jean Staughton (Richard) of Acworth, GA, Sheila Williams (David) of Pinehurst, NC, Lynn King (Teddy) of Townville, and Sherry Owens (Wally) of Anderson; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jim McAdams of Townville, and Ray McAdams of Gaffney; and four sisters, Hazel Ramage of Townville, Margaret Burdette of Pendleton, Mary Vaughn of Possum Kingdom, and Linda Wright of Bennettsville.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Tim McAdams, a brother, Gary McAdams, and a sister, Willie Sue Williams. 

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Oakdale Baptist Church conducted by Rev. David Blizzard and Rev. David Walters. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday at Sullivan-King Mortuary, Northeast Chapel, 3205 North Highway 81, Anderson. The family is at the home of Sherry and Wally Owens, 124 Burns Bridge Circle, Anderson. The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the Oakdale Baptist Church Building Fund in memory of Boyce McAdams, Jr., 6724 Highway 24, Townville, SC 29689.
