CHARLES H. PAINTER

JANUARY 17, 1927 - MAY 19, 2010

ANDERSON, SC – Charles Howard Painter, age 83, of 1010 Laura Street, passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 

Born in Greenville, SC, on January 17, 1927, he was the son of the late Fred Braxton Painter & Sue Vess Painter.  He was a graduate of Furman University and served in the United States Marine Corp during World War II and the Korean Conflict.  Mr. Painter was a retired Finance Broker in the real estate & automotive business.  He was also employed by Anderson County.  Additionally, he was a Hejaz Shriner and Mason.  Mr. Painter was a member of the First Baptist Church of Anderson.

Survivors include his wife of fifty years, Mary Kaylor Painter; daughter, Cheryl Painter Haynie and husband, David Haynie; daughter, Elizabeth Painter Capell and husband, Kevin Capell; two granddaughters, Lauren Elizabeth Capell & Kayla Madison Capell.

The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 22, 2010, in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home conducted by the Reverend Bill Rigsby. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

The family is at the home of David & Cheryl Haynie, 130 Easy Gap Road, Anderson, and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Friday, May 21, 2010. 

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Parkinson Research Foundation, Department of Neurology, 1831 Clifton Road, Atlanta, GA 30329.
