BEATRICE SMITH WINSLOW

FEBRUARY 16, 1933 – APRIL 30, 2010

ANDERSON, SC – Beatrice Smith Winslow, age 77, of 505 Burton Drive, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2010, at her home.

Born in Pelzer, SC, on February 16, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Carl Lee Devall and Mettie Gambrell Devall.  Mrs. Winslow retired from the Ryobi Corporation and was a member of Asbury Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Lloyd Sherman Winslow; children: Bobbie Sue Dooley of Anderson, Wayne Alewine of Anderson, Dennis Alewine of Anderson, and Tonja Alewine Davis of Anderson; stepchildren: Eddie Winslow of Conestee, Gail Craig of Taylors, Pat Reed of Tennessee, Steve Winslow of Spartanburg, Diane Weber of Taylors, Robert Winslow of Blue Ridge, and David Winslow of Taylors; sisters: Helen Whitmire of Starr, and Jane Heatherly of Williamston; brothers: William H. Devall of Belton, and John Harold Devall of Honea Path; ten grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Henry Gilbert Alewine; her second husband, William Amon Smith; her son, Henry Kenneth Alewine; and ten brothers & sisters.

The Funeral Service will be held 3:00 pm on Monday, May 3, 2010, in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home conducted by the Reverend Dr. Glenn Taylor. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

The family is at the home of her daughter, Bobbie Sue Dooley, 246 Sam McGee Road, Anderson, and will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Sunday, May 2, 2010.
