He was a member of Caanan Baptist Church, a lifetime member of the DAV and a fifty-eight year member of the Hiram Masonic Lodge #68.  Douglas is to be remembered for his love of God, country and family.

Survivors include two daughters, Callie Tilley and Patricia Tilley, both of Anderson, SC; a brother, Joe B. Tilley of Anderson, SC and a sister, Ruth Tilley Brown of Falls Church, VA; and three grandsons, Joshua Caine Chasteen, Jason Toby Chasteen and Corey Miles Tilley. The Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at 12:30 p.m. at The McDougald Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jerry Parnell and Reverend Steve Silvey officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Military Honors.

The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home prior to the service on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 from 10:30 a.m. until Noon.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for a simple act of kindness be shown toward a fellow man, such as planting a Dogwood tree for all to enjoy.
