FRANCES GAMBRELL

November 20, 1926 – October 4, 2010

ANDERSON, SC - Frances Ruth Cantrell Gambrell, age 83, of 106 Regency Circle, wife of the late Paul Harrison Gambrell, passed away on Monday, October 4, 2010 at the AnMed Health Medical Center.

Born in Anderson County, SC, on November 20, 1926, Mrs. Gambrell was a daughter of the late Monroe and Rosie Cantrell.  She was formerly employed with Anderson Mills and was a homemaker.  She was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include her sons, Mike Holden of Anderson and Bill Holden of Houston, TX; stepsons, Johnny, Tommy, David and Steve Cantrell; sister, Lillie Bell Holmes; stepsisters, Ovelia Ann Manley and Carolyn Weathers and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren 

She was predeceased by her first husband, James Holden; grandson, Lane Holden; stepson, Kenneth Cantrell; brothers, Raymond and Frank Cantrell; stepbrother, Bobby Cantrell; stepsister, Pearl Scarborough.

The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Steve Silvey.  Interment will follow in New Silver Brook Cemetery.

The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at funeral home on Thursday from 2:30 pm until 3:30 pm.
