County Oks Incentives That Could Bring 350 New Jobs

Greg Wilson/Anderson Observer

Anderson County Council approved, on first reading, tax incentives on Tuesday for project that could bring at least 350 jobs and a $200 million investment to the county.

"This is a very positive thing and will shine a bright light on Anderson County," said Anderson County Economic Development Director Burriss Nelson.

The breaks would be for an existing company in the county. The new jobs would include an average pay of $30 per hour, bringing the company's payroll to more than $70 million locally.

Anderson County Council Vice Chairman Brett Sanders recapped this and other news from the meeting for the Anderson Observer.
