Council Moves Forward On Project Promising 350 New Jobs

Anderson County Council approved, on second reading, tax incentives for the expansion of an existing county business which promises to add at least 350 new jobs and an addition $200 million investment.
The new jobs will feature an average pay of $30 per hour, which will add $21 million to the company’s current $50 million annual payroll.
Also at Tuesday’s meeting, council:
Approved rezoning of 19.1 acres, on Highway 76 in the Denver-Sandy Springs Precinct from highway commercial to innovative zoning district.
Approved a change to update the county’s codes and ordinances.
Approved a joint agreement between Anderson and Greenville counties for economic development.
Approved updating county speed bump regulations to reflect state law.
Approved, on second reading, incentives for a company to build a 400,000 square-foot spec building at I-85 Exit 32.
Approved tax incentives for a business on Amity Road which will provide 60 new jobs with an average pay of $22.47 per hour.
