TIgerama Kicks Off Clemson Homecoming Weekend Friday
CLEMSON — Clemson University’s annual homecoming celebration will kick off Friday with the 62nd annual Tigerama Pep Rally. It will take place in Memorial Stadium at 7 p.m.
This year’s theme, “Beneath the Orange Colored Sky,” was shaped by a number of different factors.
Tigerama director Abby Martin said, “Not only does this year’s theme capture our love for Clemson sunsets on a tangible level, but the title, modeled after Nat King Cole’s song as well as ‘Taps,’ aids in capturing a trip through the decades from what Tigerama and Homecoming used to be to what each represents now.”
Coach Dabo Swinney and the football team are to make an appearance, along with President James P. and First Lady Beth Clements. The show will feature performances from the Gospel Choir, TIGEROAR, TakeNote, the Cheerleaders, the Rally Cats, Tiger Band and more.
Tickets can be bought on the Library Bridge, at the Hendrix Student Center and online at www.ticketmaster.com. Tickets are $13 per student and $15 per adult. The Family 4 Pack offer includes two student tickets and two adult tickets for $40.
Tigerama is the second largest student-run pep rally in the country.
Before the show, there will be an Avenue of Champions Block Party. This will take place from 4:30 to 6 p.m. between Littlejohn Coliseum and Memorial Stadium. It will feature food trucks, face-painting and other fun activities. There will be T-shirts and limited edition National Championship Tiger Rags for sale.
There will be a fireworks show directly following the end of Tigerama. This can be watched from the lawn in front of Littlejohn Coliseum.
