PAWS Closed Saturday to Aid Animals from Puppy Mill

Anderson County PAWS (Animal Shelter) will be closed on Saturday, August 10 in order to assist with the in-take of animals from the suspected puppy mill located today.  However, there will be a staff person available at PAWS to accept donated food and cash contributions.

The Anderson County Sheriff's office has informed county administration that the owner has voluntarily assigned the animals over to the County. The animals will not be housed at PAWS but will be taken to a non-disclosed location.

Currently, emergency preparedness personnel, the sheriff's office and county personnel are working to provide a temporary safe haven for the more than 200 animals that were found at the property.
