Council to Consider Moving All of EMS, 911 to Sheriff

Anderson County Council will vote Tuesday night on a resolution to transfer Anderson County Emergency Services Department and the Communications Center Department, a.k.a. Anderson County 911 Call Center, under the Office of the Sheriff. The move would also transfer $5 million of budget under the control of the Sheriff, who said it would, in kind, lead to savings to the county of as much as $1 million.

Council will also hear second reading of the revision of policies concerning county-owned vehicles and will consider a resolution to approve Anderson County's Anti-Fraud Policy.

The meeting is at 6 p.m. in the historic courthouse downtown. For a complete agenda, go here.
