GAMAC Concert to Honor Memory of Myrtle Gillespie
GAMAC will present Celebration of the Soul on Friday, March 26, 2010 at 8:00p.m. at First Baptist Church (307 S. Manning Street) in downtown Anderson. Featuring the GAMAC Chorale and Chamber Orchestra, the evening will showcase the beautiful music of the Easter season in memory of friend and community leader Myrtle Eddins Gillespie.
Performances by the GAMAC Chorale will include Brahms’ How Lovely Is Thy Dwelling Place and Worthy Is the Lamb from Handel’s Messiah. The Chorale will also perform popular hymns and spirituals such asAin’t That Good News, Precious Lord, Abide With Me and many more. The GAMAC Chamber Orchestra will perform Dvorak’s Serenade under the direction of Artistic Director, Alex Spainhour.
