Anderson County Museum Pedaling into Christmas Past
Toy collector Mike Cannon will display and discuss some of his antique pedal cars December 12 at the Museum
ANDERSON — Local Andersonian, Mike Cannon, will be at the Anderson County Museum on Saturday, December 12 at 2 p.m. to present some of the most impressive pedal cars in his expansive pedal car collection. Mr. Cannon has been working on his collection of pedal cars for over fifteen years, and has quite an amazing collection to show for it. Among the pedal cars that will be at the Museum on December 12 is a 1957 Fairlane Ford—Mr. Cannon’s most treasured car. Mr. Cannon will also bring an unrestored and a fully restored pedal car. He will teach visitors and potential collectors how to distinguish between a replica pedal car and the real thing.
Young children and the young at heart will both enjoy this presentation. Children will get a chance to explore the hot item toy of their grandparents’ generation—before video games and electric toy cars. And, adults will have a chance to walk down memory lane to the Christmas morning when they discovered that much desired pedal car waiting for them under the tree.
