Dorothy A. "Dot" Wilson

Pendleton, SC - Dorothy Caroline Acker Wilson, formerly of Pendleton and a former resident of Marchbanks Assisted Living, spent her first day in heaven on February 14, 2015.

She was born on July 7, 1922 to the late Glenn and Nellie Sammons Acker. She was of the Baptist faith and very active in her church at First Baptist, Pendleton. She was a payroll specialist and retired from LaFrance Industries. Dot enjoyed cooking and creating recipes. She was always interested in a new dish someone made. Years ago, she worked in the Tea Room at Belk's and made all the cakes that were served there. Dot was a stunning beauty and once won a contest for the most beautiful legs.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory a devoted son, Richard Preston Wilson and his wife, Janice W. Wilson of Pendleton. She also leaves behind a beloved granddaughter, Makenzie Wilson of Columbia and a precious sister, Martha Acker Burgess of Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Harold K. Wilson, a sister, Nell Kalpelka, and a brother, Glenn Acker, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Pendleton First Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Courtney Krueger and Rev. Jennifer Rygg. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Tuesday at Sullivan-King Mortuary, Anderson.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 187, Pendleton, SC 29670.

The family would like to express grateful appreciation to Dr. Courtney Krueger, Rev. Jennifer Rygg, Mr. and Mrs. Horace Gibson and Ms. Cheryl Padducci for faithful visits and encouragement. They would also like to express their appreciation to the staff at Marchbanks Assisted Living for their care and devotion to Mrs. Wilson.
