Jerry W. Tucker, Sr.

Iva, SC - Jerry Wayne Tucker, Sr., 72, husband of Gail A. Tucker, died Sunday, September 21, 2014 at his residence.

Born in Anderson, he was the son of the late Harace Randolph and Kathleen Bell Tucker.  He was a retired employee of BASF. Mr. Tucker was a member of the Hejaz Shrine Temple. He was a member of  First Baptist Church of Iva, the Christian Brotherhood Sunday school class and the adult choir. He loved the lake and the time he spent there.

Survivors include his wife, Gail Tucker of the home; two sons, J. Wayne Tucker, Jr. and wife, Amy of Greenwood and Allen E. Tucker and wife, Kelly of Simpsonville; six grandchildren, Jeri A. Tucker, Clay W. Tucker, Trent L. Tucker, Alexis B. Robison, Tyler D. Lay and Jordan H. Tucker; one great granddaughter, Kye R. Owens; his special sister, Frances T. Gray of Iva; and a sister-in-law, Joyce S. Tucker of Columbia.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William R. Tucker and a sister, Laurita T. Pruitt.

Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Iva City Cemetery conducted by Rev. Jerry Gray and Dr. Paul Pinson. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service. The family is at their lake house, 112 McCalla Drive, Iva. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Iva, P.O. Box 475, Iva, SC 29655 or Shriners Hospital for Children, Development Office, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
