Robert M. Smith
Thursday, January 2, 2014 at 4:50PM Anderson, SC - Robert M. Smith, age 84, of Anderson, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at the Rainey Hospice House.
Born in Anderson, he was the son of the late David Smith and the late Ollie Stone Smith. He proudly served his country in the United States Army serving during the Korean War Conflict. He worked at Owens Corning Fiberglas for nearly 36 years. Robert was a member of Pope Drive Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife, Annie Grace Smith and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Saturday, January 4, 2014, at 2:30 p.m. with Reverend Dr. Mack Tester and Reverend Bill Rigsby officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Pope Drive Baptist Church, 2510 Pope Drive, Anderson, SC or to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
