EVELYN MAHAFFEY WELBORN
Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 9:50AM PENDLETON - Evelyn Mahaffey Welborn, 91, widow of Frank Marshall Welborn, died Monday, September 3, 2012.
Born November 15, 1920 in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late John Allen and Alice Gentry Mahaffey. She was a graduate of Anderson College and earned her B.S. Degree from Clemson University at the age of 67. Mrs. Welborn worked with her husband for many years at Welborn Shoes. She served on the Anderson County Library Board of Trustees for many years. She was a member of Welcome Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Rosemary W. Jones and her husband, J. Carey Jones, Jr. of Pendleton. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park conducted by William R. West, Jr. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at Sullivan-King Mortuary, Northeast Chapel, 3205 North Highway 81, Anderson.
