FRANCES “PINKEY” KING

February 27, 1945 – November 26, 2012

Frances Bridges Moore “Pinkey” King, age 67, of 53 South Harris Street, went to her heavenly home on Monday, November 26, 2012, upon her death at AnMed Health Center.  Born in Anderson, she was a daughter of Mrs. Mildred Duncan Bridges of Anderson and the late J. Cancel Bridges.  She was the devoted wife of the late Cecil Clifton King.

Mrs. King was a Spinner in the Textiles industry having worked for 30 years at Abney Mills, then later at Mt. Vernon Mills.  Pinkey enjoyed yard work and being with people, especially her family and friends.  She was of the Baptist faith. 

Survivors include 2 sons, Michael Moore (Jane) and Cancel Moore, both of Anderson; 3 daughters, Bridggit Kelly (Ricky), Denise Wells, and Patricia Moore, all of Anderson; a brother, Joe Bridges (Aslee) of Pendleton; 3 sisters, Julie Church of San Antonio, TX, Mary Hammond and Sara Osborne (Joey), both of Anderson;  2 granddaughters raised in the home, Dana and Frances Moore;  also surviving are a total of 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. 

In addition to her husband and father, Frances was preceded in death by a daughter Lois Bridges, a son-in-law, Pete Wells, and brothers Landy, Grady, Buggy and Jimmy Bridges. 

A Funeral Ceremony honoring the life of Mrs. King will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2012, at 2 PM, at the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home, with Rev. Sam Duncan and Jimmy Dale Kelly, Sr. officiating.  Interment will follow at Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 28, 2012, from 6 PM until 8 PM.
