FRANCES BRANYON SMITH  

NOVERMBER 7, 1922- JULY 22, 2011

ANDERSON, SC – Frances Branyon Smith, age 88, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2011, at the Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born November 7, 1922, in Anderson, she was a daughter of the late Duard L. Branyon and Annie McGill Branyon.  Mrs. Smith was a homemaker. She was also retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas with 25 years of service.  She was a longtime member of Oakwood Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Golden Rule Sunday School Class. She was a member of Ladies Retired Club of Owens Corning Fiberglas. 

Survivors include her son: G. Ronald Smith of Greenville, SC, a granddaughter: Melanie S. Carter and her husband, Miles; and two great granddaughters: Aubrey Frances and Lauren Carter, all of Belmont, NC, loving nieces: Betty Rozier, Mary Clark, and Margaret Adams; and one nephew: Wilton Fowler.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John D. Smith, and her four sisters.

The Funeral Service will be held at 4pm on Monday, July 25, 2011, in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home conducted by the Reverend Jeff Bartlett.  Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3pm until 4 pm before the service.
