KATHRYN T. PREVOST

NOVEMBER 18, 1917 - SEPTEMBER 2, 2010

ANDERSON, SC -- Kathryn Toole Prevost, age 92, of Anderson, SC, died on September 2, 2010, at the Rainey Hospice House.

Born in Lewistown, Pennsylvania on November 18th, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Prof. Clarence and Violet Toole.  Kathryn Prevost was married on March 20, 1942, to the late Dr. Claude T. Prevost, Sr. of Anderson.  She adored him and they were best friends. She was a graduate of Agnes Scott College, Atlanta, GA.  Her passions were her flowers and reading.  She shared her knowledge and interesting facts with her friends and family.  She loved discussing the classics with her grandchildren and her quote to them was, "You make your own day." Her favorite Bible verse was Psalm 118:24, “This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Anderson, Club 24, and the Friday Book Club.

Surviving are her four children, two daughters: Nancy Prevost Speer and her husband, John Speer of Anderson; Heather Prevost Hilliard and her husband, Glenn Hilliard of Atlanta, GA; two sons: Claude T. Prevost, Jr. and wife, Jane E. Prevost of Columbia; Ernest W. Prevost and Margaret Bohannan of Anderson; nine grandchildren: Kathryn H. Stuart, John Speer, Charles Speer, Nancy H. Joyce, Richard Speer, Claude T. Prevost III, Elizabeth Glenn H. Shaw, William R. Prevost, and Charles C. Prevost. She was blessed with eight great-grandchildren and her devoted companion and friend, Janie Fair. Her family thanks Viola Mattress and Hospice for their kindness.

A Graveside Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson, SC with Dr. Dennis R. Tedder officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Thornwell Home for Children, PO Box 60, Clinton, SC 29325.

KK always said, "It's a beautiful day."
