DOT McADAMS

JULY 23, 1925 – APRIL 23, 2010

TOWNVILLE, SC – Dorothy Hale McAdams, age 84, of 119 McAdams Road, wife of the late James Benjamin McAdams, passed away on Friday, April 23, 2010.

Born July 23, 1925, in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late William Lewis Hale and Minnie Davis Hale.  She was a beautician and a member of Double Springs Baptist Church. 

Survivors include her sons: Ronny McAdams, Ricky McAdams and wife, Kathy, and Reggy McAdams, all of Townville; six grandchildren: Amy Kelly, Dara Jordan, Josh, Jera, Hannah, and Caleb McAdams; six great grandchildren: Amber Simpson, Erica and Austin Hix, Shana McAdams, Jayda Kelly, and Sydney Harrison.  She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Terry Lyn McAdams; brothers: Calvin Hale, Rufus Hale, Lewis Hale, Marvin Hale; sisters: Julia Mae Welborn, Gaynelle Flynn, Irene Snipes, Jean Cromer, Alma King, Eunice Richardson, and Ethel Davis.

The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, April 26, 2010, in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home conducted by the Reverend Daryle Hawthorne, the Reverend David Blizzard, the Reverend Kyle Caudell.  Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

The family is at the home, 119 McAdams Road, and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Sunday, April 25, 2010.

Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Double Springs Baptist Church, 535 Double Springs Road, Townville, SC 29689, or to Double Springs Fire Department, 2601 Old Dobbins Bridge Road, Townville, SC 29689.
