James Montjoy

 January 9, 1931 – February 20, 2010

ANDERSON, SC – James Wesley Montjoy Sr., age 79, husband of Katherine Sylvene White Montjoy, died February 20, 2010 at his residence.

Born in Laurens County, SC, he was the son of the late Ernest E. Montjoy and Octavia Birch Montjoy.  He was retired from the Appleton Mill after thirty-one years of service.

He served his country as a veteran of the United States Air Force and was a member of the Townville Masonic Lodge 209, and the Independent Order of Oddfellows Lodge 44.

He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Alyssa Indya Montjoy; three sons, James “Jim” Wesley Montjoy, Jr. and his wife Robin, Marvin Delano Smith and his wife Nancy, Daniel Fields and his wife Judy; son-in-law, Richard Cox; ten grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brothers, Edgar E. Montjoy and Claude L. Montjoy; sisters, Frances Elsmore, Mildred McMinch, and Emma Jane Callaway. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Fields Montjoy; a daughter, Debra Kay Cox; one brother and four sisters.

A Funeral Service was held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Bobby Byrum and Reverend Terry Rainey.  Interment followed in Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Masonic Rites.

The family will be at their respective homes. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
