LOU ESTHER RAINEY

June 21, 1944 – December 4, 2010

Anderson, SC – Lou Esther Dunn Rainey, age 66, of Anderson, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2010 at National HealthCare of Anderson.

Born June 21, 1944 in Anderson, SC to the late Talford P. Dunn and Jennie Faye Richey Dunn, Mrs. Rainey was a graduate of Girls’ High School and a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. She worked as a tailor for many years and was the owner of LuCan Tailoring.

Survivors include a son, William “Billy” Rainey, and her daughter, Marie R. Rhodes and her husband, Phil, all of Starr, SC; three grandchildren, Eli Rhodes, Melissa Rhodes and Kayla Rainey; two brothers, Rod Dunn and Jason Dunn, both of Anderson; and one sister, Betty Jo Dickson, also of Anderson; and seventeen nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rainey was predeceased by a son, John Henry Rainey , a a sister, Fredda Dean Rider, and a brother, Gary Dunn.

The Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Monday, December 6, 2010 at Ruhamah United Methodist Church with the Reverend Mark Dickson officiating.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at the church.

Flowers are optional or memorials may be made to Ruhamah United Methodist Church, 114 Ruhamah Church Road, Starr, SC 29684.
