DAVID GIBSON

PENDLETON – Carl David Gibson, 64, of 134 Laurel Lane, husband of Jill McDowell Gibson, died Saturday, October 2, 2010 at his home.
Born March 13, 1946 in Anderson, he was the son of the late James Carl and Ellen Miller Gibson. He received a Master’s Degree from the University of South Carolina. He was a sales associate with R.W.I. Mr. Gibson was a member of Concord Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and taught Sunday School for 30 years.
Survivors include his wife, Jill Gibson, of the home; one daughter, DeAnne Burdette and husband, Curtis of Pendleton; one son, David Gibson of Anderson; five grandchildren, Lauren, Ashlyn, Gibson, Houston, and Jonathon; and one brother, Doug Gibson of Anderson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Concord Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Bob Marcaurelle, Rev. Richard Gibson, and Rev. Randy Blank. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday at Sullivan-King Mortuary, Northeast Chapel, 3205 North Highway 81, Anderson. The family is at the residence.
Current and past members of David’s Sunday School Class are invited to serve as honorary pallbearers.
