ARTHUR B. CASTO

ANDERSON, SC – Arthur Blair Casto, 87, of 1211 Cobbs Glen Drive, died Saturday, January 2, 2010 at his residence.

Born May 12, 1922 in Rockcastle, WV, he was the son of the late Okey H. and Elva Battrell Casto. He attended Bethel Grade School at Rockcastle, WV, High School at Ripley, WV, Montana State University (Air Force Navagation) and Indiana Institute of Technology (Mechanical Engineering) Ft. Wayne, IN. He was a Veteran of WWII, serving in the 20th Air Force, South Pacific, Guam and Siapan. He was employed by Union Carbide for 22 years and Stauffer Chemical Company for 12 years. He attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Point Pleasant, WV.

He is survived by his wife, Gertrude Tolley Casto of the home; 2 sons, Jeffrey K. Casto of Phoenix, AZ and Stephen B. Casto of Anderson, SC; 2 grandchildren, Christopher B. Casto of Atlanta, GA and Amanda M. Casto of Palo Alto, CA; sister, Ardella Casto of Cross Lanes, WV.  He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Mildred Parsons and E. Marie Casto and 3 brothers, Milford, Dale and Bernard Casto.   

A visitation will be held Monday from 6 until 7pm at Sullivan-King Mortuary, Northeast Chapel, 3205 Hwy 81 N. Funeral service and visitation will also be held in Dunbar, WV on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cancer Association of Anderson, 215 E. Calhoun St, Anderson, SC 29621.
