HENRY WILSON

July 12, 1916 – October 27, 2009
 
ANDERSON, SC - James Henry Wilson, age 93, husband of the late Ethel Gilliam Wilson, died Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at his residence. Born in Anderson, SC on July 12, 1916, he was the son of the late William “Jim” Wilson and Mary Lou Stowe Wilson.  Mr. Wilson was a United States Air Force veteran having served in World War II as a medic.  He retired from Equinox Mill with 50 years of service and was a member of the Ruff Masonic Lodge #240.  He was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Temple.
 
Survivors include his daughter, Doris Burdette and her husband, Sloan of Anderson; three grandchildren, Roger Dale Burdette and his wife, Sandra, Michael Burdette and his wife Karen and James Burdette and his wife Amy; six great-grandchildren, Brittany, Jarrett, Dekota, Maeghan, Sloan and Zack; a special friend, Mary Scott and one niece. A sister, Daisy W. Cooper predeceased him.
 
The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Sam Duncan.  Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Masonic Rites. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6:00pm to 8:00 pm The family will be at their respective homes.
