Council OKs ATAX Distribution; Extends BMW Tax Agreement

On Tuesday night, Anderson County Council approved the distibution of the county's $188,508 available from the accommodations tax.

Council also approved a five-year extension the fee-in-lieu-of-taxes agreement with BMW, which since 2009 have generated a $100 million in investment and an annual payroll in Anderson County through the supplier companies located here.

They also passed, on second reading, tax incentives for a company from the West Coast, Project East, a 15-year-old organic agribusiness, which will create 27 new jobs at an average salary of $18.74 and a $6.9 million total capital investment.
