The new downtown Anderson park, though delayed by weather, is set to open during the first week of September.
The new sidewalk and curbing along East Whitner Street (McDuffie St to Main St) is completed. The milling and repaving of the asphalt along this same section of E. Whitner St will begin Monday, and is anticipated to take four days. East Whitner will be closed during this time.
Current plans are to celebrate the park's official opening with a Family Fun Day Sept. 21.
