Airline Road Bridge Closed Until Further Notice

Anderson County Roads and Bridges has closed the Airline Road Bridge over Beaver Creek until further notice.  An emergency closure and detour route has been posted. 

Roads & Bridges received a call from a citizen this afternoon about a hole in the northbound lane of the north bridge approach.  Upon investigation the small 12-inch hole was found to be undermined at least five feet under the roadway.  The closure will remain in place until repairs can be made.

The road closure detour will follow the existing truck detour.  From the SC 28 and Airline Road intersection travel south on SC 28 to Hayes Road, turn right onto Hayes Road and travel to Airline Road.  Only adjacent residents and delivery vehicles will be permitted within the road closure.
