District Five Teachers Named to Statewide Posts

Karen Threlkeld, a mathematics teacher at T.L. Hanna High School, an IB World School, has been named President-Elect of the South Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics (SCCTM) for this year. Her election means that she will serve as the organization’s president next year. 

Also, Christi Fricks, a mathematics teacher at Lakeside Middle School of Inquiry and Innovation, was elected Vice President of middle schools for SCCTM.  This marks Mrs. Fricks’ second term as Vice President.

Both Mrs. Threlkeld and Mrs. Fricks are National Board Certified Teachers. In addition, Mrs. Fricks is a winner of the 2008 Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching.
