Darrell Cole

Townville, SC - Darrell Crawford Cole, husband of Linda I. Cole, passed away Monday, January 30, 2017, at his residence. 

Born in Anderson, he was the son of the late Freeman Eugene and Jennifer Cole. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Mr. Cole was retired from Clemson University in the Facilities, Maintenance and Operation Department. He was an honorary member and former member of the Board of Directors of the Townville Fire Department. Mr. Cole was a member of Townville Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon . 

Survivors include his wife, Linda I. Cole of the home; son, Steven Cole and wife, Adrienne of Williamston; daughter, Karen Claflin and husband, Patrick of Townville; four grandchildren, Andrew Cole, Abby, Izzy, and Zach Claflin; a number of nieces and nephews; and a longtime friend dating back to his Air Force days, Waitus Altman of Georgetown. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters. 

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, February 2, at Townville Baptist Church conducted by Rev. James Crittendon and Rev. Greg Nix. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors conducted by the Upstate Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at Sullivan-King Mortuary. The family is at the residence.
