Anderson, SC - William Alvin Kelly, 75, husband of Joyce Glenn Kelly, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2016, at the Rainey Hospice House.
Born in McCormick, he was the son of the late James Edward and Martha Fowler Kelly. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard. Mr. Kelly was retired from Owens-Corning Fiberglas with 38 years service and later worked with Anderson County Solid Waste Department. He was a member of Starr Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and was a member of the Men’s Sunday School Class.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce G. Kelly of the home; son, Edward Glenn Kelly of the home; two grandchildren, John Jacob “J.J.” Kelly and Thomas Lloyd Roberts, both of Pendleton; two brothers, James Edward Kelly, Jr. and wife, Shelby of Anderson and Marion Cecil “Buddy” Kelly and wife, Angie of Fair Play; and one sister, Linda Ann Bailey and husband, Kenneth of Anderson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Michelle Kelly and an infant sister, Brenda Gail Kelly.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Starr Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Tony Howell. Burial will follow in South Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday at Sullivan-King Mortuary. The family is at the residence.
