Anderson, SC - William Edward Chamblee, 86, a lifelong Anderson resident, died Friday, May 8, 2015 at his residence. 

Born February 1, 1929 in Anderson, he was the son of the late Lois Barton and Dora Dooley Chamblee. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Mr. Chamblee was a retired postmaster with the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of the Golden K Kiwanis Club, Hiram Masonic Lodge, and served on the Board of Hammond Water Company for many years. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church where he had served as an Elder.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Patricia A. Chamblee of the home; four children, Richard E. Chamblee, Barbara Taylor (Skip), and Alan Chamblee (Margaret), all of Anderson and Lynn Potts (Stephen) of Clemson. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Trey and Corey Taylor, Olivia and Emily Chamblee, and Madison and Gregory Potts; and a great grandson, Cooper Neeley. He is also survived by a brother-in-law, Paul Schoonover of Cave Creek, AZ; and a sister-in-law, Clarissa Getsinger of Anderson. 

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Sullivan-King Mortuary Chapel conducted by Dr. Dennis Tedder and Rev. Caroline Berardi. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary. The family is at the residence. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 302 West Whitner Street, Anderson, SC 29624 or Autism Speaks, 1060 State Road, 2nd Fl, Princeton, NJ 08540 or the charity of choice.
