February 8, 1937 – September 5, 2013

Jessie Mildred Nichols Paul, age 76, of 434 Boiter Road, Williamston, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on Thursday, September 5, 2013, at the Rainey Hospice House.  Born in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Jessie Leemon Nichols and the late Maude Haguewood Nichols.  She was a loving and devoted wife, first to the late Randy Taylor until his death in 1959, then to Henry Paul who passed away in 2002. 

Mrs. Paul was a graduate of Anderson’s Girls High School.  For many years, she was a sales associate at Wal-Mart in Fort Lauderdale, FL, then on Liberty Highway in Anderson.  Mickey loved her family dearly and enjoyed going on cruises as well as fishing and reading.  She was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Tabernacle. 

Survivors include a son, Danny Taylor and his wife, Donna, of Williamston; 2 daughters, Cheryl Vickery and her husband, Mike, of Williamston and Angie Taylor and her significant other, Robert Ginn; a step-son, Henry Paul and wife, Celia, of Miami, FL; 3 brothers, Harold Nichols and wife, Phyllis, of Pelzer, Earl Nichols and  wife, Betty, of Anderson, and Calvin Nichols and wife, Linda, of Anderson; a sister, Maude Shiflett of Iva; also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. 

In addition to her parents and husbands Randy and Henry, Mrs. Paul was preceded in death by a son, Randall Taylor; and 2 brothers, James and Bubba Nichols.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate the life of Mildred Paul will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2013, at 3:30 PM at the McDougald Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sam Duncan officiating. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Sunday from 1 PM until 3 PM.

The family suggests that contributions in memory of Mrs. Paul be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
