January 21, 1917 – September 18, 2013 

BELTON, SC - Sinclair B. Hackett, age 96, of Anderson, SC, passed away on September 18, 2013 at the Rainey Hospice House. 

Born in Buckingham County, VA and was the son of the late Basil and Susie Hackett.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army.  He worked for Phelps Roberts as a Superintendent Mechanic for 30 years and then worked for John Driggs Construction Company for 5 years until he retired.  After retirement, he and his wife moved back to Buckingham, VA, where he served as Chairman of the Deacons and on several committees of Union Church. 

He is survived by his lovely wife, Viola, of 75 years; four children, Sinclair Morris Hackett and his wife Linda, of Conway, SC, Roy Basil Hackett and his wife Marie, of Sulphur, OK, Linda Diane Parker, of Anderson, SC and Margaret Inez Wilson and her husband Bernie, of Williamston, SC; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren which includes 5 generations. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Donald Parker. 

The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Reverend Jennings Duncan officiating.  Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service on Saturday from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM. 

Flowers are optional, or memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
